Professional Development

Professional Development Opportunities
The Center for Developing Excellence/STEAM Academy is now offering Professional Development Institutes for educators in S.E. Wisconsin.  These PD opportunities will give educators hands-on experiences on how to successfully integrate, and implement, interdisciplinary STEAM curriculum within their classrooms.  Undergraduate and graduate credit is available through the University of Wisconsin.

For more information, or to schedule an Institute for your school or District, contact Larry Jozwik at: 7ljozwik7@gmail.com.
The STEM-ming the Global Water Drinking Institute was extremely beneficial because it was not a theory workshop, but a project-based learning environment that simulated what students would actually be doing in class.  Actual point-of-use water filtration systems, and problem-based activities in multiple disciplines, were the focus. This type of training builds confidence in novice teachers and gives more creative juices to seasoned STEM teachers.

I've never been to a conference that has filled my head AND my heart so much!

- Joan Roehre, Co-Founder and
Board Director of Adventure Kids Learning
